What we're going to look at

Slade Roofing Workmanship Warranty — 10 Years

We've always stood behind our work this way. This is the first time we're putting it in writing.

This warranty covers our work: how the roof was installed. Our flashing, our fasteners, our details, our decisions. If the roof is leaking because of something we did, we come fix it, and it costs you nothing.

It runs 10 years from the date of completion, applies to the original owner, on a job that was paid in full.

Coverage
Slade Roofing warrants its workmanship on the roof system it installed against leaks caused by defective installation for ten (10) years from the date of substantial completion.
Who is covered
The original owner of the property at the time of installation; does not transfer with sale.
Condition of coverage
The job must be paid in full.
What is covered
Leaks arising from our installation workmanship: fastening, flashing, underlayment application, penetration detailing, and terminations performed by Slade Roofing.
What is not covered
Storm, hail, wind or falling-object damage; leaks originating at skylights, chimneys, HVAC equipment, solar arrays, satellite mounts, evaporative coolers, or any component installed or penetrated by others; work performed on the roof by anyone other than Slade Roofing after installation; structural movement or settling; normal wear and aging; ice damming or condensation from inadequate attic ventilation not installed by us; neglect, misuse, or foot traffic.
Manufacturer coverage is separate
Product defect and manufacturer leak warranties are issued by the manufacturer under their own terms and are not administered by Slade Roofing.
Inspection fee
If Slade Roofing inspects a reported leak and the cause is determined to fall outside this warranty, including where no active leak is found or the reported condition cannot be replicated, an inspection fee of $195 applies, or $300 where the property is more than 60 miles from our nearest office.
How to claim
Submit this form or call us; do not access the roof yourself, you are not expected to.

The other two warranties

You may hold three warranties. Two of them aren't ours.

If your roof was installed with Malarkey products, the manufacturer issued you separate coverage. These are three different warranties, from two different companies, with three different sets of terms.

Filing this form starts a Slade workmanship claim. If we get out there and find the problem is a manufacturing defect, we'll tell you, and we'll help you file it with Malarkey — but that's their claim, on their terms and their timeline, not ours.

Before you file

There's a cost if it isn't ours.

We'll come look at no charge if the problem is our workmanship. If we come out and find the leak isn't covered by our workmanship warranty, there's a $195 inspection fee — $300 if you're more than 60 miles from our nearest office.

We charge it because a warranty visit costs us a crew and a truck whether or not the problem turns out to be ours. We'd rather be straight with you about that now than surprise you with an invoice later.

No charge

  • A workmanship defect covered by our 10-year warranty
  • A Malarkey product defect — that's not a false alarm, and we'll help you file it
  • Anything we caused
Inspection fee applies
$195 — $300 over 60 mi
  • Storm, hail, wind, or falling-object damage
  • A leak from a skylight, chimney, HVAC unit, solar array, satellite mount, swamp cooler, or anything another trade installed or penetrated
  • Work someone else did on the roof after us
  • A roof outside the 10-year window, or a claim from someone other than the original owner
  • Normal wear and age
  • No active leak, or a condition we can't replicate
  • Condensation or ventilation problems rather than water entry
If it turns out to be storm damage, that's usually an insurance claim rather than a warranty claim — and we handle those too. We'll walk you through it.

Photos and video

Video is better than photos if it's actively leaking.

Do not get on the roof to take these. Ground level and interior shots only — if we need roof photos, we'll take them.

Acknowledgments

Both acknowledgments are required before you can submit.

What happens next

  1. You'll see your claim reference on screen — write it down or screenshot it.
  2. We review it — your photos, the install record, ownership, and what you've described.
  3. We call you to schedule an inspection, typically within 2 business days.
  4. We inspect and tell you what we found — in writing, whether it's covered or not.
  5. If it's ours, we fix it. If it isn't, you'll know exactly why, and what your options are.
Do not get on your roof. Nothing in this process requires you to.
